JJB Sports online partner
JJB Sports was founded in 1971 by ex-footballer Dave Whelan and is one of the leading sports retailers in the United Kingdom, employing around 12,000 staff nationally and running a significant fleet of cars and associated vehicles. It currently operates out of 251 stores in the UK and Ireland.
Within the 9 years working with JJB Sports we designed, built and hosted the JJB E-commerce website with complex micro-sites for specialist areas such as golf, fitness etc. We also added flash animation and produced online football games on certain sites to promote new football kits.
We developed an ‘In it to win it’ data capture micro site, where visitors entered numbers found on their JJB receipts into an online site. For each entry the registered user added would allow them to be entered in to a monthly and yearly competition.
As a part of the online partner relationship we were asked to develop a system that provided an accurate and easy to use database containing all aspects of the company employee fleet details from basic vehicle information and recording to personal driving details.
